About Footprints in Culture

Have you always dreamed about seeing the world but keep putting your travel plans off because you just can’t seem to fit it all in? Work … family … life … all of these are important and not everyone can quit their job to pursue their travel dreams.

So what then? Never visit that city you’ve always wanted to visit? Never climb that mountain you’ve always wanted to climb or see that ancient wonder you’ve always longed to see?

Absolutely not! You don’t have to quit your job to travel and you don’t have to give up your travel dreams because of work. You can also travel the world while raising a family. This blog will show you how to make your travel dreams a reality. It’s not easy, but it certainly is doable.

Why listen to me? Well, because I’m exactly in your shoes.

FootprintsinCulture

This isn’t your typical travel blog. I’m not traveling from country to country (oh I wish) and I’m not a digital nomad. Like most of you, I have a family and a full-time career. Like most of you, I also have a travel bucket list – I call mine my Wanderlust List.

Whenever I mention my Wanderlust List, I always hear “well how in the world are you going to do all that with a family and full-time job? There’s no way you’ll get it all in!” Oh, but I can, and I will … and you can too!

Hello World - Footprints in Culture
Tobago

I’m figuring out how to do this as I go. My goal is to share my experiences to help you pursue your own travel adventures and cross off places on your own wanderlust list. Check out my Trips and Travel GuidesTravel Tips, and Travel Resources to see how I’m making this happen.

How It All Started

I absolutely love other cultures! Whether it’s learning about the history, eating the food, or best of all, visiting a new country. I’ve always been drawn to people of different nationalities and I’ve been fortunate enough to have developed meaningful friendships with people of various cultures from all over the world.

I was inspired to start this blog while visiting the beautiful island of Tobago. As we explored various parts of the island and met different people along the way, I realized not many people know about this place – it’s truly a hidden gem. Folks are missing out! I figured why not share my experiences and give my own recommendations?

But wait … there’s another layer to all this … It was during that trip to Tobago that I “woke up” and realized, while I’ve had my fair share of travel, there was so much more in the world I myself still hadn’t seen.

You see, I’ve been working hard all my life and always said “one day” or “when the time is right”. Then before I knew it, I looked up and wondered where did the time go? But I discovered you can’t just wait for the “right” time … you just have to make it happen.

You can see the world while working a full-time job, you just have to travel around it. You can also travel the world while raising a family. All this will take patience, proper planning, and utilizing the time you have (you’d be surprised how much you can see during a long weekend).

So I’m putting my plan into action! I’ve made it my mission to go through my Wanderlust List, one step at a time – to see the places I’ve always wanted to see and enjoy the experiences I’ve always wanted to enjoy.
